Solving the Mystery of Parenting Teens
Solving the Mystery of Parenting Teens is a workshop designed to help parents of teens learn to solve the mystery of parenting teens by transitioning from pilot to co-pilot, thus avoiding being "thrown from the plane" as their kids make the journey from teen to young adult. It’s also a Positive Discipline parent educators dream, because the training readies them to teach courses for parents of teens.
The materials for the training have been created by Lynn Lott, Alicia Wang and Kimberly Gonsalves and are based on Positive Discipline for Teenagers: Empowering Your Teen Through Kind and Firm Parenting, Revised 3rd Edition, 2012 by Jane Nelsen and Lynn Lott.
Lynn loves teaching this course and showing others how to use the Facilitator Guide and the Parent Handout Guide. The materials are user friendly, filled with wonderful cartoons by artist Paula Gray and offer easy steps for succeeding at teaching a course packed with information and experiential activities. Topics covered include the challenges of parenting teens, parenting styles, know yourself/know your teen, how to motivate teens using encouraging communication, problem solving with teens, letting go and dealing with scary behaviors.
If you would like to invite Lynn to your area to teach this course, contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
